The Minnesota Rebekah Assembly is the governing body for the Minnesota Rebekahs. Established on September 20, 1851, the Rebekahs, also known as the International Association of Rebekah Assemblies (IARA), and originally the Daughters of Rebekah is an international service-oriented organization and a branch of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. It was initially designed as the female auxiliary of the IOOF but now allows both female and male members.
The Minnesota Grand Encampment was Instituted June 7, 1871 and is the governing body for the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Encampments in Minnesota. At our 2025 session, it was agreed to change our annual meeting to the first Saturday of October. This was done to encourage younger members to participate by avoiding the conflicting time of the traditional MEA long weekend. The Patriarchs Militant is the uniformed branch of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, established in 1885. It represents the highest degree within the IOOF, focusing on ceremonial and fraternal activities. Patriarchs Militant lodges are referred to as Cantons. Sometimes the Patriarchs Militant is referred to as “the Canton”, due to the Canton being the name used instead of “Lodge”.
Our Encampment has its origin in Windom, MN. As the area Encampments merged charters, it became the lone survivor. Our membership has taken a recent uptake as there has been renewed interest in learning more about Odd Fellowship. The Patriarchal, Gold Rule, and Royal Purple Degrees enhance your Odd Fellowship experience. Yes, it is another meeting, but it continues to extend the fraternal bonds shared by its members.
The Minnesota Odd Fellow Youth Camp is known as "Camp Fa-Ho-Cha", the acronym of Faith, Hope and Charity. The Camp is located on a 24.6 acre island on German Lake which is about 20 miles NE of Mankato, Minnesota. Please contact us for more information.
