Independent Order of Odd Fellows – Media Submission Guidelines

We love sharing the amazing work our Lodges are doing! To help us keep our communications timely, engaging, and relevant to a broad audience, please follow the guidelines below when submitting content for publication.

What to Submit

We welcome submissions that highlight:

  • Photos from recent events – Include a brief description, date, and location. (High-resolution images preferred.)
  • News coverage – Links or PDFs of articles featuring your Lodge or its members.
  • Upcoming major events – Special occasions, public fundraisers, celebrations, or initiatives that would be of interest beyond your local membership.

What Not to Submit

Please do not send listings for smaller, recurring activities like:

  • Regular Lodge meetings
  • Recurring social gatherings
  • Ongoing music nights or performances
  • Routine workshops or classes

These belong on our Community Pages on Facebook and Reddit where they can reach your immediate audience. Our social media team keeps an eye on these pages and may choose to share them anyway!

Submission Tips

  • Who can submit – Any IOOF Odd Fellows or Rebekah member may send in media for consideration.
  • Be timely – Send recent news and event photos within a week whenever possible.
  • Provide context – Include the who, what, when, where, and why in your description.
  • File format – JPEG or PNG for photos; PDF or web links for articles.
  • Follow-up – We will contact you by email if we have questions and will let you know if your submission is selected for posting.

By sharing your stories, you help strengthen our Order’s visibility, celebrate our members, and show the impact of our work in communities far and wide!
