Island Rebekah Lodge #24 was re-instituted in 1999 and is a local chapter of the Rebekahs, also known as the International Association of Rebekah Assemblies (IARA), an international service-oriented organization and a branch of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. We were initially designed as the female auxiliary of the IOOF but now allow both female and male members. Fun Facts:IOOF traces its roots to England’s “odd trades” guilds in the 1700s, where workers in miscellaneous trades banded together for mutual aid. This origin story explains the “odd” in Odd Fellows.
