Queen City Lodge #1 In Burlington Vermont traces its history back to when Green Mountain Lodge #1 (1845-1955) was founded. Since then Hamilton Lodge #14 of Burlington (1881 to 1955) was also active in the city until the two consolidated. Named after Major Samuel Ringgold who was killed at the Battle of Palo Alto, the first officer killed in the first battle of the Mexican-American War, serving under (future president) Zachary Taylor.
