Alleghany Lodge #23
Alleghany Lodge #23 meets the first Monday of the month (unless holiday, then 2nd Monday) at their farm/retreat located 11 miles south of the Covington Post Office on Rt. 159, driveway on your right. If the driveway is missed, a landmark would be Dunlap Vol. Fire Department. Driving "from" Covington, if you arrive at the DVFD, turn around and drive 1/2 mile back towards Covington. Odd Fellows driveway would NOW be on your left.
Alleghany Lodge #23 is a local chapter of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF), an international fraternity that promotes personal and social development through principles of fraternity and community service.
Odd Fellows lodges engage in various activities, such as helping the sick, supporting the distressed, educating orphans, and participating in charitable projects tailored to the needs of our local communities. Members are encouraged to develop personally by progressing through lodge degrees, which symbolize their growth within the organization. Overall, Odd Fellows lodges focus on fostering goodwill, harmony, and mutual aid among people.

Fun Facts:Many IOOF lodges, like the one in San Francisco, maintain museums with regalia, artifacts, and archives. These collections preserve the order’s history and showcase its cultural impact.
