The Grand Lodge of the Netherlands and Belgium is the governing body for the Independent Order of Odd Fellows in the Netherlands and Belgium. The Grand Lodge oversees the local lodges within its jurisdiction, ensuring they adhere to the principles and regulations of the IOOF. The Amstel Lodge is the twelfth Lodge founded in the Netherlands, more than 100 years ago. The Lodge is having a hard time due to a low membership (8) and will therefore probably stop its activities soon. The Amstel Lodge was in Amsterdam for a long time and then sought salvation at a friendly Lodge in Krommenie. It has not been possible to attract new members. The current chairman is Br. Jim van Lawick is also a member of the Grand Lodge in the kingdoms of the Netherlands and Belgium.
